Bob Cooley

VP Sales & Marketing

Bob Cooley was practically born to be in the wine business.

Bob's family began running Hacienda Wine Cellars in Sonoma Valley in the 1970s. At the time, Bob was a student at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. During the summers, Bob would take a break from his agriculture studies to help his dad around the winery. After graduation, he joined Hacienda full time - quickly working his way up to Vice President of Operations.

After the family winery was sold in the early 1990s, Bob joined Landmark Vineyards in Kenwood, CA, working with Mike and Mary Calhoun for some 18 years until the winery was sold in August 2011.

At Benovia Winery, Bob will focus on expanding Benovia's distribution network to include more fine restaurants and resellers across the nation, as well as oversee wines sales to customers at our winery and through our website.

Bob brings a tremendous amount of expertise in the wine business to Benovia. In the past, Bob has managed wine sales and distribution, developed second wine labels, sat on prestigious tasting panels, worked on the production side of the business, and even represented Pinot Noir growers at expos in the U.S. and Europe.

A sixth generation Californian, Bob has two children and lives in Penngrove, CA, at the foot of Sonoma Mountain. Bob's hobbies include fishing and trap shooting, but his real passion is raising and riding cutting horses and taking home trophies from competitions around the country.

"Benovia is an exceptional winery with a very talented winemaker that has a lot of growth potential ahead of it. One of my main goals is to expand Benovia's distribution so many more customers can be introduced to these fantastic wines."
